  4. My caterpillar was amazing last night. It was changing. It was half caterpillar. It was changing in to a cocoon. I was in bed when my caterpillar was changing! He was wiggling around and his tail was going side to side and up and down. He looked like he was going in circles. He was going crazy!

  6. We thought by the look of our caterpillar and the cocoon that formed later that Alex's butterfly would look much different than it did. Look at our prediction of what the butterfly would look like and our actual photograph of the butterfly. Why do they look so different? Do you have a new idea about what the butterfly may be?

  7. Alex and I did some research in a Florida Butterflies book. We did not have a lot of luck using the Internet to research. However, in the book, we found the Florida Viceroy Butterfly. It looked very similar to a monarch butterfly (which is what Alex thought he had hatched after we saw that it wasn't a White Admiral). I think we predicted incorrectly because the White Admiral pupa and the Florida Viceroy pupa look very similar. We knew that Alex's butterfly could not have been a monarch butterfly because the pupa looked nothing like the monarch pupa.
